Wuhan and Chicago

Day 7 brings us Wuhan and Chicago, these two midwestern cities are tied together for their dominance of the Central corridors.  Wuhan, the largest city in central China and Chicago, the most populous city in the midwest share more than just large populations.  Both these cities are major economic, financial and cultural powers in their respective countries.  

 

Wuhan

  • Population - 8.8 million
  • Location - In Central China on the Jianghan Plain.
  • Fun Fact - The fact that it is virtually equidistant from Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu and Guangzhou makes it the dominating industrial, commercial and transportation center it is today.

Chicago

  • Population - 2.7 million 
  • Location - On the southwestern tip of Lake Michigan in the Midwestern United States.
  • Fun Fact - The Chicago River is the only river in the world that flows backwards.
